COO & Founder - Jacqueline Nguyen
Jacqueline has traveled extensively in Asia, having lived in South Korea for three years immediately before attending UC Berkeley. While residing in South Korea she took multiple trips to the Philippines to help her mother initiate a school and library in her mother's rural hometown. In addition she also had the opportunity to teach English to North Korean refugees and guide them through their immersion in American and South Korean culture. Her experiences overseas have allowed her to appreciate different cultures as well as understand their hardships.
Her passion for working with the underprivileged and needy unites well with her involvement in campus organizations at UC Berkeley. She was the President of WonderWorks, which strives to stimulate interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields in elementary schools through regular hands-on, fun science experiments. She founded and led a student-run class related to WonderWorks that cultivates leadership skills and engages undergraduates in modern issues of elementary school education. Jacqueline was also the Director of Vision Education for Project Vision, which educates low socioeconomic individuals on available free/low-cost eye care. She has spearheaded many of the organization's initiatives, such as eye education outreach to children in Children's Hospital Oakland and local elementary school classrooms and a symposium dedicated to spreading awareness of early childhood eye disease. Her knowledge of international and local cultures and her experiences and leadership in community work make her a valuable part of the team.
Jacqueline enjoys nature, astronomy, learning about issues on energy and the environment, and group cardio dance classes. She graduated from UC Berkeley.
